Powerful Testimony on the NGH Convention 2008

Here is a letter received at the NGH Convention offices from a first-time attendee at the 2008 NGH Convention. We think it says a lot…

Dear Convention Organizers:

I have been meaning to attend the NGH convention every year for the past few years that I have been a member but due to a combination of being in Ireland and having a very busy schedule it never happened until this year.

I wanted to personally congratulate those involved in doing an incredible job at coordinating such a large yet personal event. I found it to be a great opportunity for personal as well as professional development and have made many new friends and also had the opportunity to meet a few colleagues in person that I have previously only corresponded with by phone or online.

I look forward to attending in coming years and seeing you all again soon.

Warm regards,

John Francis Leader

08-08-08 !

Don’t let that date catch you behind the eight ball. Instead, break out your “magic” eight ball and ask it theCheck your magic eight ball.... all-important question, “Will I be missing the opportunity of a lifetime if I fail to attend the National Guild of Hypnotist Convention 2008?”

We can guarantee that the answer will be an emphatic, “YES!”

Check the countdown clock that appears just below the Twitter box on the right hand side of this blog, and you will see that we are counting down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until 08-08-08!

Twitter Comes to the National Guild of Hypnotists Convention Blog

Did you notice that the NGH Blog is using Twitter? Here on the blog’s home page, you will see a pale red box, located on the right side of the page. Inside that box, you’ll find updates on the National Guild of Hypnotist convention and pre-convention news. You can also receive these updates directly on your cell phone so that you never miss a National Guild of Hypnotists teleseminar, or any other important convention news item.

Here is how Twitter describes their service to your cell phone:Twitter comes to the National Guild of Hypnotist Blog

About using Twitter on your phone

Twitter really shines when you’re away from your computer.

By hooking up your mobile phone, you can receive updates from those you’re following (or just some people) when you’re waiting in boring lines. And you can send updates, like“OMG, there’s a monkey walking down the street!”-which, lets face it, you’re unlikely to see while you’re indoors. Read more…

See You For Lunch at the NGH Convention?

The NGH 20-year member lunch will be a special treat at this year’s NGH Convention. Scheduled for noon on Sunday, August 10, the luncheon will honor the convention’s 1988 attendees.

Twenty years ago, the National Guild of Hypnotists Convention was held in Danvers, Massachusetts. While the venue has changed, many of the people who were at the 1988 NGH Convention will be back this year, when we meet in Marlborough, MA.

If you were a member of NGH in 1988, or you attended the 1988 NGH Convention, please be part of this special luncheon. It’s been twenty incredible years, and the NGH wants to honor you.

Patricia MacIsaac Invites You to the NGH Convention

Looking for a New Career? Many Are Turning to Professional Hypnotism

(Merrimack, NH) June 30, 2008
The National Guild of Hypnotists reports that many people are turning to hypnotism as a new career choice. The 57-year-old organization, the world’s oldest and largest association for professional consulting hypnotists, already has more than 10,000 members, representing 65 countries around the globe. Yet, the number of people registering to attend this year’s 3-day convention and conference, scheduled for August 8, 9, and 10, is out of the ordinary by comparison to any previous year.NGH Convention Registration

Tom Nicoli, Board Certified Hypnotist and longtime NGH member is perhaps best known for his successful hypnosis weight loss program, which was the subject of NBC’s Dateline. Nicoli explains, “The economy is tight, people are looking for meaningful new careers or ways to supplement their current vocation, so it makes sense that they are choosing to become board certified hypnotists through the National Guild. What an opportunity to change your life and your finances while helping others.”

The NGH Convention is open both to hypnotism professionals and to anyone with a sincere interest in learning more about hypnosis or careers in hypnotism and fields that utilize it. You can receive information about the National Guild of Hypnotists Convention and Educational Conference, by calling the NGH Convention registrar at (603) 429-9438. Additional information about hypnotism, the NGH Summer Institute, or the 2008 NGH Convention can be found on the NGH Convention blog, http://www.nghconvention2008.com

According to the Guild’s International Affairs Officer, Dr. Shaun Brookhouse of London, England, “Refining your craft as a professional consulting hypnotist is a study of a lifetime. But the National Guild of Hypnotists Convention is an excellent place to start. Come for 3 days or up to two weeks. Depending upon the classes you take, you can leave the NGH Convention ready to set up your own professional practice.”

In addition to offering its members in-depth training, certifications, re-certifications, and important professional benefits, the National Guild of Hypnotists provides its members a powerful lobbying arm. Through their affiliation with the OPEIU/ AFL-CIO, the Hypnotists Guild is the champion for the rights of professional hypnotists and the integrity of the practice of hypnotism.

Today’s NGH membership includes therapists, counselors, coaches, nurses, and a range of health care professionals. A college degree is not required for enrolling in the NGH Convention courses, or for receiving your certification as a Board Certified Professional Consulting Hypnotist.

The National Guild of Hypnotists, Inc. is a not-for-profit, educational corporation. Founded in Boston, MA in 1951, the Guild is a professional organization comprised of dedicated individuals committed to advancing the field of hypnotism.
